Moment Energy accepts healthy, non-DDR EV battery packs suitable for second-life use.
We typically work with:
• Lithium-ion chemistries (LFP, NMC, NCA)
• OEM EV packs from passenger and commercial vehicles
• Packs with ~70%+ State of Health
• Intact, undamaged packs with original BMS and connectors.
Moment Energy also accepts stranded batteries (or second-chance batteries), which are unused, non-deployed lithium-ion batteries originally allocated for projects like Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) or Electric Vehicles (EVs) that were cancelled or did not proceed.If you’re unsure, our team can review your pack data or photos.
No. Moment Energy does not accept Damaged, Defective, or Recalled (DDR) battery packs.
To repurpose your EV batteries, submit our inquiry form with any available details. Our team will review the pack, confirm eligibility, and provide fair-market pricing. We’ll coordinate transport, and once the pack arrives, it undergoes intake testing before being prepared for second-life use.
Safety is built into every stage of our product, from cell screening to system commissioning. Batteries are rigorously tested and graded at our UL 1974-certified facility before integration. At the system level, Luna BESS includes multi-layer protection: an advanced battery management system (BMS), continuous monitoring, electrical and thermal safeguards, and a fire-risk mitigation strategy validated through UL 9540 and UL 9540A testing. We also provide clear operating procedures and work closely with local authorities to ensure each project meets or exceeds applicable codes and standards.
