The deployment reduced fuel needs at the relocatable temporary camps by at least 33%. Moment Energy introduced its Flora battery energy storage systems (BESS), paired with a solar array and wind turbine, creating an innovative microgrid solution that significantly reduced diesel consumption in off-grid military camps.

The Challenge

The contest aimed to integrate energy, water, and waste management systems for relocatable temporary camps (RTCs). A key objective was to reduce the fuel supplied to the RTCs by at least 33%. This posed a significant challenge, particularly in off-grid military camp environments where reliance on diesel consumption is high.

The Solution

Moment Energy addressed this challenge by introducing its Flora battery energy storage systems (BESS). Paired with a solar array and a wind turbine, the Flora BESS formed a cutting-edge microgrid solution. This innovative setup demonstrated a significant leap toward reducing diesel consumption in off-grid military camps, effectively contributing to the goal of lowering fuel supply by at least 33%.
