God's Pocket

God's Pocket Scuba Diving Resort, located in a remote area of British Columbia, faces the challenge of limited access to clean energy.

The Challenge

God's Pocket Scuba Diving Resort located on a remote island in British Columbia was facing a challenge of limited access to energy. Prior to installing Moment Energy's BESS, God's Pocket had a 100% energy reliance on diesel generators which required a difficult and expensive diesel transportation process. As an ecolodge, God's Pocket was looking to reduce their carbon footprint, noise pollution, and the overall cost of energy.

The Solution

Our technology has reduced diesel generator usage by 66% reducing its reliance on diesel, and energy costs. God’s Pocket also increased the natural experience of the resort as the noise coming from the generators is reduced significantly. The reduced noise pollution also meant that the wild life around the resort was able to thrive, increasing the natural feel of the ecolodge. This also meant that the fumes coming from the generator were reduced significantly, increasing the quality of the air for the guests.

It’s been an incredible journey. I think there’s a lot of excitement from the God’s Pocket side about changing something like this. It’s also just energizing to bring the resort into the future in a way, into something that’s leveraging new technologies and still maintaining the rustic feel -- actually even improving the rustic feel – because we won’t hear the generators as much, and we’re even more immersed in the natural aspects of this place.
